Costume Climbing Night and Workshop at Sender One (Playa Vista)

Outdoor & Adventure Recreation is excited to be partnering up with the Rock Climbing Club and Rosecrans ROAR program to kick off spooky season with a costume climbing night and outdoor climbing workshop, down at Sender One Playa Vista this Thursday, October 5th (6pm - 8pm) - all levels welcome! 🎃🧗📓📝

 

What you can expect during the program:

• 🤝 Meet others who want to get outside to boulder
• 🪨 Enjoy Sender One's replica routes of outdoor climbs
• 🏞 Gain education on how to get outside safely
• 📚 Check out Sender One's guide books and learn how to plan your next climbing trip
• 👻 Costumes encouraged (but optional) - *please wear costumes that won't get caught on the climbing holds and will enable you to still see and climb safely

 

Schedule:

• 5:00pm: Meet at the Rosecrans parking lot *for those that need transportation (*must request within LEO registration, limited spaces available)
• 5:30pm: OAR vans leave LMU (*5:35pm Lawton Plaza LMU Shuttle option available)
• 5:45pm: Meet up at Sender One Playa Vista (check in, sign waivers, get rental shoes, etc.)
• 6:00 - 8:00pm: Climbing workshop and free-climbing
• 8:15pm: OAR vans leave to go back to campus (*8:07pm, 8:22pm, 8:37pm LMU return shuttle options from Village Drive)

 

Transportation & Parking:

• Transportation will available to the first 14 students that request a ride within registration (leaving from the Rosecrans parking lot). Please indicate in your registration if you'll need transportation
• The LMU Playa Vista shuttle is also available at Lawton Plaza at 5:35pm (returning and leaving Village Drive at 8:07pm, 8:22pm, 8:37pm)
• Carpooling is another option (please check with/DM the Rock Climbing Club to see if they have some cars that are driving down)
• Parking in the main lot can cost up to $10+, limited street parking may be available for free

 

Pricing + Sender One Registration (*action required*):

• Option 1: Free to join if you already own a Sender One day pass, punch pass, or membership - please make sure to still reserve your spot with Sender One
• Option 2: Purchase a Day Pass includes shoe and chalk rentals): $20 when booked in advance, or $32 day-of
